Myles Turner: Evaluating Trade Viability with Impending Free Agency
He’d be the perfect piece for a team looking to contend and take that next step forward. As such, it’s no surprise he’s been a popular name on the trade market. It seems as if Detroit would absolutely be open to moving him, but only at the right price.
With that in mind, let’s use ProFitX’s trade model to identify three trade packages that could make sense as a starting point for the high-scoring forward.
The Boston Celtics lost in the NBA Finals last season, but have gotten better on paper since. If they’re looking to really build the best roster in the NBA, adding Bogdanovic could be a quick win. As important as Grant Williams is to this team, he’s due for a significant contract in the near future, so parting ways now could make sense.
After making big moves in the offseason, the Minnesota Timberwolves have not played up to the level of expectation. The roster just doesn’t seem to fit right, so making a move could be exactly what they need. Naz Reid is having a breakout season and is due for a new contract, so perhaps the Pistons could acquire him and make the young big a part of their long-term plans.
The New York Knicks have shown flashes of being really good this year, it just doesn’t happen consistently enough. If they’re serious about making a splash in the Eastern Conference, adding a 20-point scorer would be huge. Immanuel Quickley is young, fits the Pistons’ timeline and has been reportedly available for the right price on the trade market.
