When a player is signed to a contract, there’s many factors that go into the value and length of the deal. With that in mind, there will always be players that end up being drastically overpaid or underpaid. Taking this into account, leveraging the ProFitX Athledex allows us to quickly identify which players are projected to outperform their contract during the 2022-23 season. With just a few clicks, our technology can benchmark a player’s contract value against their real-time contract value through time.

In addition to accessing this feature, we can also project the future value of an athlete – a key attribute given players sign contracts based on what they’re expected to do in the future, not solely what they’ve already done. Using this data, we put together a list of ten players that are on some of the best value contracts this season, excluding players still on entry-level rookie scale deals. If there were such a thing as NBA All-Value Teams, who would make the cut?

For these players, we project they’ll be worth much more than they’re being paid, putting their respective teams in a great financial situation. Additionally, many of these athletes are entering the final season of their current contract. If they play at the level we project them to, a large increase in pay should be coming. Using the ProFitX Proxtial model, we can look back at the previous two seasons and forward two seasons to understand the top eight athlete development areas of growth. This allows us to get an understanding of how an athlete has improved recently and where they could continue to improve as they develop and are more deserving of a larger contract.
